Dit is mijn favoriete LP van de zomer van 1976. Ik was met een uitwisselingsprogramma van mijn voetbalclub AFC '34 uit Alkmaar in de Verenigde Staten. Om precies te zijn bivakkeerden wij bij de lokale voetbalclub van Massapequa, Long Island. Alles ging goed, er werd volop gescoord bij het voetbal, veel spectaculaire uitstapjes zoals een vliegtochtje boven de 'skyscrapers' van Manhattan. Natuurlijk ook 'the bicentennial'op 'the fourth of July' met heel veel vuurwerk.
Als voorbereiding voor een wedstrijd ging ik er eens lekker voor zitten en draaide de hele fantastische dubbel LP van Peter Frampton en ontspande volledig om daarna ernstig te vlammen op het veld. Natuurlijk met de tekst van ( I Want You To) Show Me The Way in gedachten. De weg naar het doel natuurlijk of zoals Sjaak Swart zei: 'Ik moest toch die kant op'. Mijn voetbal-LP bij uitstek en zo Amerikaans als maar mogelijk is.
Tenslotte nog de gimmick met de tuinslang aan de microfoon gesynchroniseerd met de sologitaar, het handelsmerk van Peter Frampton die naar mijn weten verder niet zo veel moois geproduceerd heeft.
